Estuary Open House!

Celebrate National Estuaries Week with us! 

Join us on Saturday, September 19, from 10 AM–2 PM at the Hobcaw Barony Discovery Center for our Estuary Open House as we celebrate National Estuaries Week and the incredible ecosystems found where rivers meet the sea.

Come explore the wonders of the salt marsh and learn more about the plants and animals that call our estuaries home. Throughout the event, you’ll enjoy:

🔬 Live salt-marsh creatures — meet scientists and get an up-close look at some of the fascinating animals that live in our estuary.

🎨 Art exhibits — discover creative works inspired by our coastal environment.

🖌️ Face painting — a fun activity for young estuary explorers.

🧜‍♀️ Special mermaid appearance — meet a mermaid from 11 AM–1 PM!
