Fishes of North Inlet

Assist scientists as they collect and study juvenile fish, shrimp, and crabs using a seine net. Participants will observe the net pull and help transport the catch back to the USC seawater lab, where everyone will assist with sorting, identifying, and measuring the specimens collected.

Participation is limited to 7 people. Recommended for ages 6 and up.

Please note: Due to passenger van age restrictions, anyone under 18 must ride with an adult in a personal vehicle to the USC seawater lab, located 2.5 miles down a bumpy gravel road. Please meet at the Hobcaw Barony Discovery Center a few minutes prior to the program start.
