Winyah Watershed Paddle: Mingo to Cowhead, Black River
Join Reserve Education staff for a morning of exploration along the undeveloped Black River. As we kayak through the Black River, we will talk about native plants, animals and why this ecosystem is so important to us as a community.Â
You must provide your own kayak, paddle, lifejacket, and whistle. This program is intended for experienced paddlers ages 18 and older. Bring snacks/lunch, sunscreen, bug spray and plenty of water! This kayak trip is about 7 miles total, this is quite a bit longer than our usual paddles, please keep this in mind. We can have a quick lunch break during the paddle, if needed.
**This is a one-way paddle** The paddle launch will take place at Mingo Landing along the Black River (off of Mingo Landing Trail) We will unload all kayaks and gear at Mingo Landing. After that, we will move all vehicles to Cowhead Landing to park, once we are parked, everyone will load in the passenger van to head back to Mingo Landing to start our kayak trip. (More information will be sent out via email a few days prior to the event)
