Winyah Watershed Paddle: The Narrows
Join us for December’s Winyah Watershed Paddle at “The Narrows” along the Black River. Learn about the Black River and the plants and animals that call the Black River home. Detailed instructions will be sent via email a few days prior to the event. Email hayley@baruch.sc.edu if you have any questions. Registration is required, and you must bring your own kayak, whistle, lifejacket, paddle. Participants must be 18 years or older.
Please read description/emailed instructions carefully. This will be a one-way paddle from Pumphouse Landing to Pine Tree Landing, which is about 5 1/2 miles total. Everyone should meet at Pumphouse Landing (at the end of Reds Landing Rd, not at the end of Pumphouse Landing Rd!!) Once you unload your kayak and equipment at the end of Reds Landing Rd, we will then make our way to Pine Tree Landing to park our vehicles. I will be driving everyone back to Pumphouse (Reds Landing) to start our kayak trip (you will ride in the NERR’s 14 passenger van) There is a slight chance you will need to get out of your kayak and walk your kayak down stream in some sections (due to shallow water) so please wear appropriate shoes (boots, or shoes that can get wet) this is a part of “The Narrows” fun experience!
START: Pumphouse Landing (all the way at the end of Reds Landing Rd)
END: Pine Tree Landing (all the way at the end of Pine Tree Landing Rd)
