Dr. Robert Dunn

Welcome Robert Dunn

The North Inlet – Winyah Bay NERR is pleased to announce
that Dr. Robert Dunn has joined our team as the new Research Coordinator.

Robert is an ecologist who studies species interactions,
population dynamics, and the effects of fisheries on coastal ecosystems.
Originally from North Carolina, Robert is joining us from the West coast, where
he completed a PhD (UC Davis) and postdoc (San Diego State University) studying
Caribbean coral reefs, kelp forests, and the spiny lobster fishery in southern
California and Baja California Mexico. Robert also has a Master’s degree from
North Carolina State University where his research focused on oyster reef
ecology and restoration. His experience with the NERR system goes back to 2007
when he was a summer intern at the North Carolina NERR office in Wilmington,
NC!  At North Inlet-Winyah Bay, he is
excited to work on research related to ecosystem-based management of coastal
habitats and estuarine community ecology broadly.
