Connect with nature at your own pace while following a scavenger hunt to the finish line! This fun program will take you by beautiful wetland habitats and on a brand new hiking trail at Hobcaw Barony. Each participant that completes the scavenger hunt will receive a North Inlet Sticker! Meet Education Specialist, Hayley, at the Hobcaw Barony Discovery Center at 1PM for rules and directions for your scavenger hunt. You will grab a map and pencil to complete your quest! This program must be completed before 3pm to receive your sticker! Intended for all ages and free of charge!

The NIWB NERR is partnering with the Black River Cypress Preserve in Andrews, SC to host a 5 mile guided bike ride through the property! We will stop along the way to talk about some of the pristine habitats that encompass the Black River Cypress Preserve. Bikes are provided and please bring your own helmet. Join the North Inlet team to monitor for harmful algal blooms in our coastal waters as part of the National Phytoplankton Monitoring Network. Training will cover phytoplankton identification, field sampling and lab techniques and data entry.
It is officially Monarch Migration season! Join the reserve staff to search and tag Monarch Butterflies as we take a stroll through the pristine property of Hobcaw Barony. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, bug spray, sunscreen. Registration required.
Take a walk through maritime, upland forest, and wetland habitats to see fall in bloom at Hobcaw Barony. Reserve staff and naturalists will help identify common fall wildflowers. Meet at the Discovery Center parking area. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring insect repellant. Cameras and binoculars welcomed. Free, registration required.
